Graduate Programs
Graduate Education in the Coulter School of Engineering challenges and inspires students to become leaders in their discipline. Innovative multidisciplinary programs with rigorous research and learning opportunities are available through M.E., M.S. and Ph.D. graduate degrees offered by the departments of:
Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Electrical and Computer Engineering
Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering
Several Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs are also available:
Engineering Science
Engineering & Global Operations Management
Environmental Science and Engineering
Information Technology
Material Science and Engineering (coming soon)
Special options for graduate students allow for dual Master of Engineering/Master of Business Administration degrees or an off campus PhD for students who are also fully employed.
Many of our graduate students work in the inter-disciplinary environments created through our cross-campus research centers:
Center for Advanced Materials Processing (CAMP)
Clarkson Center for the Environment (CCE)
Center for Air Resources Engineering & Science (CARES)
Center for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (CREST)
Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES)
Funding is available on a competitive basis in the form of research assistantships, teaching assistantships and partial tuition scholarships.
Career & Professional Development
The staff of the Career Development Center conducts workshops on resume preparation and letter writing, and arranges individual appointments where the student is assisted in critiquing the resume and letter. Following this process, workshops are offered on interviewing techniques, utilization of the career library, job search techniques, job trips, and decision making. Students may schedule videotaped practice interviews with one of the Center's staff members. Two career fairs are held on campus each year, attracting over 100 small and large firms looking for Clarkson graduates.
Housing
Most graduate students live in off-campus apartments. The Residence Life Office also maintains a list of off-campus apartments. You are encouraged to make arrangements for housing prior to July of the year you plan to enter the program. Housing information may be obtained from the Residence Life Office at 315-268-6642.
