OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center, the Assistant Director of the Entrepreneurship Center requires a highly motivated and energetic professional who is self motivated and results driven. The Assistant Director supports the Director in implementing a comprehensive strategic plan that successfully advances small business sustainability regionally and promotes the Center nationally.
The Assistant Director will work extensively with regional partners to develop value added relationships; will identify and apply for grant opportunities to support the strategic plan and will attend national conferences in order to develop relationships, learn best practices and enhance national exposure.
WORK PERFORMED
• Provide support for the implementation of a strategic plan for the Entrepreneurship Center at Clarkson University including:
o Promoting and delivering multiple sessions of the My Small Business 101 program.
o Identification of, and application to, several grant programs which are aligned with the Center mission and vision.
o Identification and collaboration with regional partners who can support the Center vision.
o Promoting the Center mission and vision to the campus community, the region and the broader Entrepreneurship support community in a way that attracts positive national attention.
o Work with web developer to complete on-line presence, be responsible for maintenance and weekly update of on-line presence.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree or 5 years experience in related field preferred. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of progressive professional responsibility in consulting, marketing or sales related experience. Evidence of leadership and the ability to work independently is desired. A track record of working creatively, independently and effectively is essential. Excellent communication and public relations skills, knowledge of curriculum issues, prior management experience utilizing a team approach, and keen desire to contribute to the success of the Entrepreneurship Center and those that the Center serves will be important in the selection of the Entrepreneurship Center Assistant director.
