Biology
Biology — the study of living systems — opens the door to careers in a multitude of fields: from medical practice to medical research, from bioengineering to genetic engineering, from environmental science to conservation. You could wind up working almost anyplace — from a high-tech laboratory to the remote Arctic tundra, from a hospital operating room to an ocean tidal pool. As a biologist, you get to ask some of the really big questions about life and living — questions that raise issues and challenge social policy in fields like genetic engineering, ecology and medical treatment.
An undergraduate degree can take you directly into industry or government as a researcher or lead to work in pharmaceuticals, biotechnological engineering, technical sales, or consulting for laboratory equipment producers. A degree in biology is also excellent preparation for medical, veterinary or dental school or for graduate studies in physical therapy or any of the sciences.
In addition to the bachelor of science degree, Clarkson also offers graduate degrees with concentration in the biological sciences.
