Admission
There are four pathways that a student can follow to enter Clarkson’s graduate (Doctor of Physical Therapy) physical therapy professional program:
- As a Freshman
- As an undergraduate transfer student within Clarkson
- As an undergraduate transfer student from an institution other than Clarkson
- As a direct applicant to the DPT program as a graduate from another institution.
There is a significant benefit in applying to be a Freshman at Clarkson if you are interested in being a physical therapist. When you apply to Clarkson to be a Freshman, and wish eventually to enter the DPT program at Clarkson, you apply to both the University and to the Department of Physical Therapy. Acceptance by our Department reserves a place for you in the DPT program when you graduate from Clarkson.* You will not be competing with your classmates at Clarkson, nor will you to compete with external applicants. As long as you meet all prerequisites successfully* you will move directly and smoothly from your undergraduate education at Clarkson into your graduate DPT study at Clarkson.
